Demon Hunter Build

Here is a Demon Hunter build to help you level.  If you’ve never played a Demon Hunter before there’s a few things to take note.  First off expect to play your Demon Hunter in a more evasive way that you would with a regular melee damage taking class like the Barbarian.  This doesn’t mean that the Demon Hunter is a softy, it just means that you aren’t going to want to just stand there while enemies beat you down.  You might get away with that strategy or play style initially but after a few acts or by the time you reach Nightmare that really won’t work anymore.

Be sure to focus on Dexterity as your primary stat and Vitality as your secondary stat.  Really pay attention to the balance of these stats though and be careful to not just take Dexterity for more damage every time if you find yourself unable to survive fights.  You need to have some element of good survivability otherwise dying a lot and running back will cost you more time than if you just dealt a bit less damage but had more survivability.  Another thing you can do to combat this issue is to put an Amethyst in your weapon which will give you +Life per hit.

Finally, before I get into the build, be sure to place a Ruby in your helm (one of the highest level you can) to ensure that you maximize the amount of experience while you level (rubies increase the amount of experience you gain per kill).

Here’s the build:  Demon Hunter Build.

I won’t explain it much since you can read what each skill does within the build.  You’ll notice several skills emphasize AOE, which in Diablo 3 is vital because of the large groups of mobs that come at once.  Other skills maximize damage and make it easier to kite or be more maneuverable while fighting.
