Diablo 3 Monk Leveling and Farming Build – Monk Guide

In Diablo 3 the Monk is a melee damage dealer that uses fist weapons and combat staves as specialty weapons.  It’s primary stat is Dexterity and as always it’s beneficial to stock up on Vitality too.  In fact, while you are playing if you notice you are taking too many beat downs and dying a lot you might want to reevaluate your Dexterity to Vitality ratio.  It’s not worth it to have a ton of Dexterity if you can’t take any hits and survive…it’s far better to do a bit less damage but actually be able to DO damage because you are alive!

If you are still  leveling or are going to be leveling I recommend that you get a socketed helm as soon as you can and place the best Ruby you can afford into it.  This will increase the amount of experience you gain and if you get a higher quality Ruby it can dramatically reduce the amount of time you spend leveling to 60.

Here are a couple of Monk builds you might want to take a look at whether you are still leveling or farming:

Monk Build 1

For this first build you’ll use:

Primary: Fists of Thunder with Lightning Flash

Technique: Dashing Strike with Blinding Speed

Defensive: Breath of Heaven with Penitent Flame

Mantras: Mantra of Evasion with Backlash

Passive:  Transcendence, Sixth Sense, and Exalted Soul

Monk Build 2

For this second build you’ll use:

Primary: Fists of Thunder with Quickening

Secondary:  Lashing Tail Kick with Scorpion Sting

Defensive: Serenity with Peaceful Response

Technique: Sweeping Wind with Fire Storm

Focus: Cyclone Strike with Implosion
