This is an Archaeology Guide for 1-525 (updated for patch 4.3). Archaeology is the newest profession (secondary skill) in WoW. It is unique from other professions and secondary skills in that it is more just for fun that for gaining an actual skill or item that will help you in PvE or PvP fights (as least not for your main character). It's also not really good for gold making. So at this point you are probably wondering what is it good for! You can get a really neat assortment of pets, mounts, toys, and even some epic and rare weapons and armor that are bind on account. So there is a lot of neat stuff you can actually get from Archaeology. It's also pretty easy to level up as you'll see in this guide.

Obsidium is one of three ores (the other two being Pyrite and Elementium) that were introduced with Cataclysm. It is the lowest level of the three ores and you can begin farming it at about level 78 with a Mining skill level of 425. Obsidium will be a popular ore to farm in Cataclysm because there will be a demand for it at the higher end profession levels. It will not, however, be as valuable as Elementium or Pyrite because those ores will be harder to obtain.

Mount Hyjal: Levels 78-82

Pyrite, along with Elementium and Obsidium, is a new Cataclysm ore. It is a rare spawn of Elementium (just like Titanium was a rare spawn of Saronite). You must be 475 to farm Elementium Ore but you must be 525 to farm Pyrite Ore. Don't expect to go out and collect loads of Pyrite once you hit 525. For starters, as stated above, it's a rare node spawn and secondly, this ore will be farmed a lot since it is the high end ore of the newest expansion.

Elementium Ore is a new ore released with Cataclysm. It is the highest level normal ore that you can mine for. Pyrite is a rare node spawn out of Elementium. There will be a strong demand for Elementium Ore in the Auction House throughout Cataclysm because it is used in many professions, in the form of ore and bars. Below you'll find farming locations for this ore.

Patch 3.3.3 was released today and below I have pasted the changes that relate to professions.

Professions

Runed Orbs: Recipes which require this item have had their material requirements significantly reduced.

Engineering
The Pet Bombling and Lil' Smoky non-combat pets are no longer Bind-on-Pickup.

Fishing

Well the official patch notes from last Tuesday's patch are below. With all of the changes to the game like new dungeons and the new quest interface the changes to professions seem very mild in comparison.

In the upcoming patch 3.3.0 there are some very minor changes to Enchanting, First Aid, and Mining. However, the real fun is in the Fishing changes which include the addition of a new fishing derby, the Kalu'ak Fishing Derby. I've pasted the test realm patch notes below:

When you see "Your Pick" in the guide below that means that you should select any orange glyph to make or yellow if there are none that are orange to you anymore, as will be the case in a few instances. Make sure to train often so that you are making the best glyphs for you to level off of.

This is a WoW Skinning Guide that will help you level from 1-525 (updated for patch 4.3). If you are Skinning for leather for Leatherworking a major time saver would be to buy mats on the Auction House instead of Skinning. Skinning is one of the easiest professions to level up, especially if you are leveling. To start Skinning you just need a Skinning Knife in one of your bags and simply need to kill beasts and click to skin. It's really that easy and before you know it you will be 525!

Below you'll find a World of Warcraft Saronite and Titanium Mining Guide. Titanium is a rare spawn node and will typically be found where Saronite nodes are usually found. So, if you are looking for Titanium follow the routes on the map for the Saronite and you will likely run into a Titanium node once in a while.

You will also notice the Gryphon icon on the maps, this means that the areas are only reached or best reached by using a flying mount.
