About the Death Knight

Death Knights were the first hero class that were introduced to World of Warcraft in the expansion The Wrath of the Lich King. The Death Knight begins at level 55 and in order to make a Death Knight you must have a character on the account you want to make one on that is level 55 or higher.

Pros

Death Knights can wear plate armor and wield almost every weapon. They have the ability to strike from melee or to cast Frost or Shadow Spells from a range. In the Blood Tree they have the ability to self-heal themselves and they come with a free mount. They are being primarily played as tanks and damage dealers.

Cons

Death Knights will not be able to use shields and they are highly dependent on player awareness to use abilities for defense instead of having a high amount of passive defense abilities. Also, your Death Knight can be awfully weak if you do not have sufficient Runic Power regeneration.
