Build Explanation
This was the highest BM Raid DPS talent build during the beta and unless any significant changes are made to the tree, this will be the highest Beast Mastery Raid DPS Build when the expansion is released.
Some people think and prefer the 57/14/0 build over this one but there is a few key reasons this one will out perform in raids.
The major difference between the two builds is the 57/14/0 build opts out of Careful Aim (increases attack power by 100% of your intellect) and Improved Hunter's Mark (increases bonus attack power granted by 30%). If you have another Hunter in the raid with Improved Hunter's Mark that talent may not be necessary, but you have to take into consideration that not only could these two talents buff your ranged DPS significantly (which is a greater portion of your DPS than your pet) but your pet will also benefit from the increased attack power.
The talents chosen in the 57/14/0 tree are Frenzy 5/5 instead of 4/5, this is a waste, pet attack speeds are so fast these days that if you have decent gear, the frenzy buff will almost always be up on your pet with 4/5 so the gain, if any, is minimal.
They also choose Kindred Spirits 5/5 which increases your pets damage by 20%. If you have a Devilsaur clocking in at 500-1000 DPS regularly, that's only a 100-200 DPS gain, and you have to consider against raid bosses your pet can never reach hit cap, having said that, this damage bonus you've selected via talent tree becomes even more useless. On top of that, what happens if your pet dies regularly in some of the encounters?
For these reasons alone, the 51/20/0 build is superior to 57/14/0 for raid purposes.
Also, Spirit Bond can be a better choice for raiders rather than Improved Mend Pet, depending on what you are raiding. If you're at 15,000 to 20,000 health with your hunter, you will be generating 300-400 HP every 10 seconds and your pet with maybe at 10,000 health is generating 200 every 10 seconds. If you add that up to a minute rate, it becomes 1800-2400 health for yourself per minute, and over a 10 minute boss fight it becomes 18,000-24,000 health for yourself. Think of how much longer you could stay alive during some of the AoE fights with 18,000-24,000 passive healing.
