Jewelcrafting is a tradeskill profession that was released with the Burning Crusade expansion. It provides players with the ability to create rings, necklaces, trinkets, healing statues, and even unexpected oddities like cloth items and fist weapons. At higher levels jewelcrafters are highly sought after because of their ability to cut precious gems to be placed into socketed items. These gems provide players with bonuses to their characters such as increased stats, extra mana regen, and improved critical strike rating.

Mining is a World of Warcraft gathering profession that involves the collection of minerals and gems from mining veins. Players activate their mining skill so that mining veins appear on their mini map. Once mines are spotted the players must run to them and then click on them to begin mining them for minerals and gems (which can sometimes be found in veins).

Skinning is a World of Warcraft profession that allows players to skin beasts for leather and hides. Players must simply train skinning, put a skinning knife in their bag, kill beasts, loot them, and right click them in order to skin to obtain leather and hides. These components can then be used to craft items in other professions like leatherworking, engineering, and tailoring.

Herbalism is a World of Warcraft profession that involves the collection of herbs throughout zones. Players must simply train this profession and activate the skill and the locations of herbs will be provided on their mini map. The herbs require a certain skill level in order to harvest and lower level herbs are found in lower level zones and higher level herbs are found in higher level zones.

Tailoring is a World of Warcraft profession that allows players to create various cloth gear and bags. Players get cloth by looting it off the corpses of humanoids or by purchasing it in the auction house. Once they have the cloth they need, they then create bolts of cloth which can be sewn into pieces of gear with the help of some thread and perhaps some dye or other required items.

Enchanting is a World of Warcraft profession that gives players the ability to place enchants on gear and weapons. These enchants provide the items enchanted with stat increases, increased mana regen, and increased damage output, among other things. Not only are enchanters able to enchant their own gear, they can enchant others gear, even if it is soulbound, just by opening up a trade window with the item in it. Enchanters are able to train a wide variety of enchants that are helpful to all classes, therefore, enchanters are commonly found in every class, from warriors to priests.
